Areyonga, known locally as Utju, is nestled in a spectacular valley in the western end of the MacDonnell Ranges, about 100km from Hermannsburg and 240km west of Alice Springs. Its population of 235 residents predominantly speak Pitjantjatjara, having originally come from the Petermann Ranges in the 1920s when Anangu were forced to leave the Docker River area during a long running drought.

Areyonga Artists have recently started to facilitate the production, distribution and sale of the artworks made by Aboriginal artists from Areyonga Community. Their paintings are vibrant and diverse, reflecting each artist’s unique style, stories and connection to country.

Areyonga Artists have an art making facility and private accommodation will be made available for use. To succeed in obtaining this contract position, you must evidence your ability to work in a cross- cultural environment. Previous experience working in Art Centre will be highly regarded.
