Jane Young

Jane Young 2016 - Taken Tangentyere Artists

Jane Young was previously the Desart Chair between 2009-2014.  Re-elected to the board at the 2015 AGM, after a required break from the board, Jane was again elected by her peers to Chair the Desart board for 2016.

Jane is an Eastern Arrernte woman from Santa Teresa whose country lies on the north-west edge of the Simpson Desert. Jane has been an artist for many years. She was a founding member of Keringke Arts and now paints with Tangentyere Artists in Alice Springs.

Ronnie Douglas

Having previously served on Desart’s board in 2008, Ronnie was re-elected to the board in November 2014. Ronnie is an established member of Tjala Arts  and elected to the position of Desart Deputy Chair for 2015 & again for 2016.

Otto Sims

Otto Sims was first elected to the committee in November 2014.

Currently the Chair of Warlukurlangu Artists, Otto is a community elder and artist.  Otto has participated in Desart’s activity programs, and attended the International Artists Exchange in 2013/14.

Kathleen Rambler

Kathleen Rambler was first elected to the Desart board in November 2014.

Kathleen is a strong and valued artist at Artists of Ampilatwatja. Having represented her art centre at interstate exhibitions Kathleen is keen to contribute to her community and art centre by representing them on Desart’s board.

Tuppy Goodwin

Tuppy Goodwin 2016 - Taken Executive Meeting Feb 2016

Tuppy Goodwin is a founding Director of Mimili Maku Arts and she is a highly celebrated artist. Her works have been acquired by many institutions and important collectors such as the South Australia Art Gallery, the Corrigan Art Collection and Art Bank Collection. Tuppy represents Art Centres from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands.

Tuppy was first elected to the Desart Board in November 2013.

Betty Conway

Betty Conway Tangentyere Artists

Betty Conway Desart Board member- First elected Nov 2014

Betty has been a member of the Tangentyere Council Executive, worked with Tangentyere Patrols (Night and Youth), and continues to be involved with Ilparpa Housing Association; and holds the respect of many because she takes on the responsibilities of leadership roles with the community.

Maime Butler

Maime Butler

Maime Butler  is a highly respected artist working closely with both Papulankutja Artists and Tjanpi Desert Weavers.  Maime is a former director of NPY Women’s Council, and currently works with land management in the Ngaanyatjarra lands.

Maime has been serving on the Desart Board since November 2012.
