Desart Inc is seeking applications for the position of Art Worker Program Coordinator. As Art Worker Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the effective planning and coordination of Desart’s annual Art Worker Program, including a wide range of training and mentoring activities for art centre workers. The Art Worker Program has a long-term goal to increase employment and career pathways for Aboriginal people in the arts.

The program’s strategic commitments are to:

·        Identifying and promoting employment opportunities and career pathways for art centre workers within the arts.

·        Supporting and facilitating access to professional development opportunities for Aboriginal art workers.

·        Developing programs which support art worker industry knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities.

Desart is a not-for-profit peak industry body representing 40 Aboriginal art and craft centres across Central Australia, and has provided advocacy, training, and support services for Art Centres for over 30 years. Desart provides a united voice on behalf of Aboriginal artists and our member Art Centres, aiming to ensure their recognition and sustainability as a vital cultural, social and economic resource
