Join the vibrant Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre in Ali Curung! This is a unique opportunity to work alongside First Nations artists, help tell their stories, and support a thriving creative community rooted in traditional cultures. Located 400km north of Alice Springs, the Centre is 100% community-owned, representing four traditional language groups: Kaytetye, Alyawarr, Warlpiri, and Warumungu.​

About the Role

As Studio Coordinator, you’ll be a hands-on driver of creative energy, administering studio operations, supporting artists, and managing art and cultural initiatives. You’ll assist with:

Cataloguing and documenting artworks using SAM database software
Coordinating freight and packaging for artworks
Customer service and sales, both onsite and at events/art fairs
Creating promotional materials and updating social media
Assisting the Manager with key administrative and operational duties​

What You’ll Do

Foster relationships with artists and staff, encourage Aboriginal employment, and mentor workers
Uphold Indigenous language, culture, and tradition by observing protocols
Coordinate, document, and participate in events, exhibitions, and cultural activities
Maintain a safe, tidy, and well-stocked studio environment
Provide social support for artists and facilitate their creative and professional development​

Who You Are

You understand art materials, colour theory, and the care/conservation of artworks
Experienced supporting artists and working across diverse projects
Knowledgeable about the contemporary Aboriginal and broader visual arts sector
Proven ability to mentor and train Aboriginal artworkers
Confident in cataloguing, packing, and photographing artworks
Able to work independently and build positive relationships
Tertiary qualifications in visual arts, community development, or arts management—or significant professional experience

What’s Offered

Salary $65,000-$80,000  + leave loading, superannuation

Six weeks annual leave, generous subsidised accommodation, re-location costs.

Start date mid January 2026
