Promotion & Marketing
Desart promotes Central Australian Aboriginal arts and culture to local, national and international audiences through our events, projects and platforms.
Desert Mob Exhibition, Symposium and Market Place is one of Australia’s major Indigenous arts events, it is a vehicle through which visitors can gain a unique insight into the lives and cultures of Aboriginal artists living in our remote Aboriginal communities in Central Australia.
The annual Desart Photography Prize celebrates the art of photography from our membership.
Desart has led and participated in many special projects, including:
- Vincent Lingiari Art Award in partnership with Central Land Council (2016, 2019)
- We are in WonderLAND in partnership with the National Institute for Experimental Arts (NIEA), University of New South Wales (2015)
- Chinese and Korean Exchange Programs (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018)
The Desart Radar Newsletter is a quarterly newsletter that features art and short stories from the Desart membership. It also promotes our services, key dates for our members, grant deadlines and industry contacts.
Desart invests in targeted marketing for our members in commercial, government and industry art journals and platforms. We connect to audiences globally via our website and social media platforms, promoting the achievements of our members and expanding the market for Aboriginal art and attracting support for ethical purchasing.
