Cecilia Martin Nampijinpa
Warlpiri artist Cecilia Martin Nampijinpa was born in 1989 in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Cecelia started working with Arlpwe Art and Culture Centre in June 2021, where her partner Dwayne also took a role as an arts worker. While Cecelia is predominantly a painter, she has also experimented with jewellery and photography.
Artist statement
These medicines are still collected by our community today, the whole family is involved in collecting them. Once gathered, often the leaves are boiled, then used to make hair lovely and long, and also for colds and skin rashes to stop itching.
