Abel Pareroultja
Abel Pareroultja joined the Hermannsburg Potters in early 2022. In March, he participated in workshops held at the JamFactory in Adelaide as part of Hermannsburg Potters’ Men’s Development Program. Abel applies his landscape painting skills to creating pots that depict his Country.
Artist statement
When I was a teenager I saw Warumpi Band play in Alice Springs at Anzac Oval with my father. Big mob crowd, everyone came in to watch. George Burarrwanga was dancing around on stage, lots of energy. They were really popular at the time, everyone was listening to them. My favourite song is Jailanguru Pakernu (Out From Jail). That was the only time I saw them play.
