Vanessa Inkamala was born in 1968 at Ntaria (Hermannsburg), a mission established by German Lutheran missionaries at the end of the 19th century. Vanessa’s grandmother’s brother is Albert Namatjira. Vanessa lives in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and paints in the watercolour tradition. She paints the landscape of her ancestors, which is the country she belongs to.
The river flowing through at Two Mile. The water travels to Glen Helen and all the way. The Finke River flows strong and goes through my Country. I love seeing the Finke run all the time when there is big rain. It’s good to go fishing and swimming with family on Country.
