Maureen Baker
Maureen Baker is a Ngaanyatjarra woman and is from Warakurna. She spent significant time living in her husband’s country in the APY Lands in South Australia, raising her children. She has now returned to Warakurna and is a dedicated painter and board member of Warakurna Artists.
Artist statement
This painting depicts the artists’ grandmother’s Country, ‘Kulkurta’ east of Tjukuṟla community in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia.
