Cora Meruntju was born at Tieyon Station, south of Finke in the Northern Territory, where her father worked as a stockman. Her family moved around various cattle stations in pursuit of work, eventually settling at Maryvale Station. Cora now resides at Titjikala, where she is an active member at the Tapatjatjaka Art Centre. Cora also produces fine punu (wood carvings) of local reptiles and animals, enjoys weaving raffia and creating and sculptures from native grasses.
Cora’s heritage provides a rich source of inspiration for her artwork which features depictions of life on a station. Her choice of palette reflects the rich, warm colours of the surrounding country.
