Natalie Robin Jenny
Born in the Kaltjiti (Fregon) community, Natalie Robin Jenny is an emerging artist moving with her family between Kaltjiti and Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff). Natalie works at the Kaltjiti art centre.
Artist statement
These are the rockholes at Walalkara. Tjukula tjuta (many rockholes) are found at Walalkara. This is Natalie Robin Jenny’s grandfather’s Country; Yankunytjatjara Country, located 65km south-west of Kaltjiti (Fregon) on the APY Lands. Walalkara Country extends east to Ililya taking in the rockholes of Purni Purni. Kapi tjunu is the water from an underground spring. Irititja, long ago, the water was very important from the underground springs and kapi warku (surface rockholes) after the rain. A spring at Ililya, provides reliable water supply in addition to the numerous waterholes and rockholes.
