Lloyd Jampijinpa Brown
Lloyd Jampijinpa Brown is the grandson of Paddy Japaljarri Stewart, one of the founding artists of Warlukurlangu Artists and one of the main painters of the famous Yuendumu School Doors. He was born in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and has grown up in Yuendumu, located 290km north-west of Mparntwe. Lloyd’s favourite pastime is singing in one of the local bands, and he plays football and is a keen supporter of the Yuendumu Magpies. He first started painting for the art centre when he was young and more seriously since 2002. He paints the stories that have been passed down to him for generations, stories of Lloyd’s traditional country. Lloyd also works at the art centre, assisting with the preparation of canvasses.
