Kathy Inkamala
Kathy Inkamala is a Western Arrarnta woman, born at the Hermannsburg mission, and now living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Kathy’s grandmother was Albert Namatjira’s sister. When Kathy was a child, she used to watch her father Clifford Inkamala, a successful watercolour artist, painted landscapes. Kathy’s mother sewed, crocheted and produced placemats from native bean seeds for decoration. Kathy decided when she was younger that she would like to continue this artistic tradition. Today, she is inspired by native bush flowers and bush tucker. In 2017 Kathy obtained a certificate 4 in visual art from the Batchelor Institute.

Glen Helen Gorge or Yaparlpa
It is a site with sacred area for men and women
It belongs to Panangka/Pungarta.
I am very keen to improve my skills as a watercolourist. When I finish a watercolour painting I feel very proud about my work. The Country I paint is important to me because it’s my father’s Country.
